Nordic Capital's successful acquisitions of ProGlove and AutoCirc were both announced in 2022. Mark worked as the lead consultant of both technical due diligence teams, which were assembled by Intuitus and Endava Private Equity Group (PEG). Mark also provided strategic guidance and domain expertise to ProGlove's ongoing roadmap.
EMK's portfolio was supported by Mark in 2020, 2022 and 2023. In 2020, Reconomy (a portfolio company of EMK) acquired Reverse Logistics Group (RLG), during which time Mark was appointed to a team of specialist consultants assembled by Intuitus. More recently, Mark supports EMK portfolio companies, including Bark, on technology strategy and scale-up.
LDC acquired a majority stake in ByBox in 2016 where Mark was a Company Director and Head of Technology. Following the transaction, Mark was appointed CTO and led disruptive product development, international expansion and rapid scale-up. During his entire tenure at ByBox, the valuation increased from ~$30m to ~$300m, creating multiple successful exits for investors.
Working with Agilitas on their successful buy-out of Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) from Saab AB, announced in 2022, Mark was the lead consultant on a team formed by Endava Private Equity Group (PEG).
In collaboration with Mayfair, Mark provided fractional CTO and board advisor support to their portfolio company - Parcel2Go. He worked on international expansion, technology scale-up and M&A execution, through to the company successfully securing investment from EQT, announced in 2021.
Phoenix Equity Partners and their portfolio company, Global Freight Solutions (GFS) were supported by Mark in 2021. As part of a team formed by Intuitus, Mark performed a comprehensive technical assessment and provided expert opinion and insights to assist the future technology strategy.
Resonance is building the tech intelligence engine to nurture technologies that could assist with everything from creating a cleaner, more sustainable planet to designing drug treatments that improve health and extend lifespan to exploring the universe. Mark is the 'Specialist Technical Advisor' for technology strategy and the build of the intelligence platform.
In partnership with Livingbridge and their portfolio company, Carousel Logistics, Mark was appointed interim CTO and board advisor in 2020. He focused on software and data strategy, product roadmap, organizational structure, scale-up and exit readiness. Livingbridge announced the successful sale of Carousel Logistics to Axcel private equity in 2021.
AlphaSkill, the deal-advisory and executive search firm for European private equity clients, works closely with Mark as its independent 'Specialist Advisor - CTO'. Mark has interviewed and successfully placed C-suite technical leaders in the portfolio companies of private equity firms including Mayfair, Livingbridge and EMK.
Searchlight's acquisition of a stake in Synergy was announced in 2022. Mark carried out the technical due diligence assessment as part of a team formed by Endava.
In 2021, Cathay Capital worked with Mark on the technical due diligence of a potential target. Mark was the lead consultant of a team formed by Endava Private Equity Group (PEG). The technical due diligence concluded successfully. No transaction took place.
Corsair announced the sale of its share in RGI Group in 2022. Mark carried out the vendor technical due diligence assessment. He worked as part of a specialist team assembled by Intuitus.
As a member of Endava's Technology Associate Consultant (TAC) community, Mark has performed about a dozen technical due diligence assignments for private equity clients. He is a lead consultant, and specializes in assessing organizations which are building software products, transitioning to recurring software revenue models, or expanding R&D to accelerate the commercialization of technology.
Joining Parcel2Go as a fractional CTO and board advisor in 2020, Mark focused on international expansion, technology scale-up and M&A execution. Mark supported Parcel2Go through to investment readiness. Investment was then secured with EQT and announced in 2021. During the process, Mark also worked with executive search firm Alpha Skill in recruiting and appointing the permanent, full-time CIO.
The Kalinga Fellowship was set up by the Bridge Institute to combat human trafficking. Mark joined as a volunteer in 2019 and led the technology programme. Working with representatives from the UK, US and Indian Governments, Interpol, law enforcement, and technology companies such as IBM and Traffik Analysis Hub, Mark is the author of a comprehensive government-level report on the potential and recommended use of technology.
As the Specialist Technology Advisor, Mark provides technical strategy for the development of The Quantum Insider's data platform. He is an IBM Certified Developer on Quantum Computation, and a member of the IET's Quantum Engineering Community.
Mark has supported Reconomy in a number of acquisitions. He was appointed to a team of specialist consultants assembled by Intuitus, appointed to carry out the technical due diligence of Reverse Logistics. The successful acquisition was subsequently announced in 2020. He also led the assessment of Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG), which was then successfully acquired and announced in 2021.
As lead consultant of a team assembled by Endava, Mark led the technical due diligence for ProGlove's 2020 investment from Nordic Capital.
Mark has advised ProGlove on post transaction technology strategy, product roadmap, disruptive innovation and rapid scale-up.
As a selected advisor and investor of Bezos, a logistics platform for fast growing, direct to consumer brands, Mark brings CTO and Technical Director experience from other fast growing SaaS platforms within the distribution and supply chain sector. His specialist areas include technical leadership, disruptive product development, international expansion and rapid scale-up.
Space Impulse is part of the Resonance Group, where Mark serves as the Specialist Technology Advisor, providing data strategy for the intelligence platform.
Carousel appointed Mark as interim CTO and board advisor in 2020, to focus on software and data strategy, product roadmap, organizational structure, scale-up and investment readiness. The successful investment from Axcel private equity was subsequently announced in 2021.
Refuge is the largest domestic abuse organization in the UK. Every day it supports thousands of women and their children. In 2020, Mark volunteered to support Refuge with a review of its technology landscape, digital platform, software organization and IT budget plan.
Mark worked with BESA on a review of the technology platform, an assessment of the digital landscape and the analysis of a number of strategic technology options. BESA's primary focus is to support and serve its members in the design, installation, maintenance and management of engineering systems and services in buildings.
